The infinity pool mirrors the sky above the turquoise bay.

From above, the villa's two pools and terraces step down towards the sea.

A lounger sits at the pool's edge above the water.
Sunlight Breeze is a four-bedroom ocean-front villa set high within a gated hillside resort at Tamarind Hills, on Antigua's calm west coast. The whole house is arranged around its view: a private infinity pool runs to the edge of the terrace and seems to pour into the turquoise bay, with a plunge pool on the level below and wide covered terraces for lounging out of the sun. Inside, the open-plan living, dining and kitchen space folds open to the sea, and four en-suite bedrooms, most with their own sea-view terraces, sleep eight. The mood is relaxed and coastal, pale timber and grey linen against white walls, with woven pendants and beamed ceilings. Days move between the pools, the shaded terraces and a waterside deck above the sand, with a barbecue for laid-back dinners as the sun goes down. Guests also have the run of the resort, a beach club with a spa, a fitness centre and a restaurant, and a concierge for special extras, and a white-sand beach is a short stroll away. It suits a family or two couples who want an ocean-front base with space and resort comforts, and Jolly Harbour is a five-minute drive. V. C. Bird International Airport is around a 35 to 40 minute drive.

The dry season from December to April is the classic time to visit, with warm, sunny days, gentle trade winds and calm, clear water in the bay. May and early summer stay bright and quieter. June to November is the Atlantic hurricane season, hotter and more humid with the odd heavy shower, though the sheltered west coast makes an easy time to relax by the pool.
01The Architecture
The villa steps down the hillside of a gated resort, arranged over two levels so that the main living floor and the pool terrace command the full sweep of the bay. The style is contemporary Caribbean: white rendered walls, dark timber beams and shingled roofs, deep overhangs and gazebos for shade, and glass balustrades that keep the outlook open. Wide…

Inside, the villa is relaxed, light and coastal. Grey linen sofas and pale timber sit against white walls, with woven rattan pendants, beamed and vaulted ceilings, and the odd piece of driftwood or local art. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space runs along the glass so the sea is always in view, with a live-edge dining table and a…
03The Outdoor
The outdoors is the heart of Sunlight Breeze. A private infinity pool runs along the main terrace, its edge merging with the sea, with a plunge pool on the level below and loungers set out to catch the sun. Wide covered terraces wrap the villa, giving shaded places to lounge and dine with the bay in view, and a gazebo…
