Caribbean Wonder
VILLA • SOLDIER'S BAY, SAINT JOHN, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
6 Bedrooms • 6.5 Bathrooms • Sleeps 12
Caribbean Wonder is really two villas in one. Set within a gated luxury resort above Soldier's Bay on Antigua's sheltered north-west coast, it joins two neighbouring three-bedroom villas into a single six-bedroom retreat for twelve, sharing a private pool that looks out over the turquoise bay. A flight of steps leads straight down to a quiet white-sand beach, so swimming and paddling are moments from the door. Each villa keeps its own open-plan living room and full kitchen, opening onto verandahs made for long, shaded lunches, while the bedrooms have their own terraces or direct access to the outside. The appeal here is having the privacy and space of a villa with the ease of a resort behind it: guests can wander to the shared infinity pool, the spa, the games room and a choice of restaurants, including a clifftop dining room and an overwater jetty, or arrange watersports, a private chef and treatments without leaving. It suits two families holidaying together or a group of friends who want their own base but like the idea of a concierge, a spa and dinner cooked for them close at hand. V. C. Bird International Airport is about a 15-minute drive away, among the shortest airport transfers on the island.

The dry season from December to April is the classic window, with warm, sunny days, gentle trade winds and calm, clear water in the bay. May and early summer stay bright and are quieter and better value. June to November is the Atlantic hurricane season, hotter and more humid with the odd heavy shower, though the resort setting and reef-sheltered cove make it an easy time to relax by the pool.
01The Architecture
The two villas are built in a contemporary take on Caribbean colonial style: white timber and render, louvred shutters, pitched roofs and deep verandahs that wrap the living spaces in shade. Sitting side by side on the slope above Soldier's Bay, each is arranged as an open-plan pavilion, with living, dining and kitchen flowing together and folding out through French…
02The Interior
Inside, both villas share the same soft, pale palette: white sofas, natural linens, timber floors and framed coastal prints, with the odd four-poster and carved chest for character. The living rooms are open-plan and unfussy, built around comfort and the view rather than statement pieces, and each flows into a proper dining area and a full kitchen with an island…
03The Outdoor
Outside is the heart of Caribbean Wonder. The shared private pool sits on a terrace above the bay, ringed by loungers and parasols, with a shaded pergola and daybed for the hottest part of the day. Verandahs off each villa give sheltered spots for breakfast and dinner, and steps lead down through the gardens to a quiet white-sand cove for…
04The Location
Caribbean Wonder sits above Soldier's Bay on Antigua's north-west coast, a calm, reef-sheltered cove that is among the prettiest on the island. The gated resort setting means the beach, gardens and water are quiet and well kept, and the capital, St John's, with its markets, shops and cruise harbour, is around 15 minutes away. Some of Antigua's best beaches and…
05Ideal For
Best for two families or a group of friends travelling together who want the space and privacy of a villa with the comforts of a resort close by. The joined three-bedroom villas suit groups who value some separation, and the calm beach, shallow water and games room make it comfortable for families with children, provided the unfenced pool is supervised.
