Le Fornet 2 is a fully staffed five-bedroom chalet in Le Fornet, the highest and oldest hamlet of Val d'Isere, set apart from the resort bustle at the mouth of the road up to the Pisaillas glacier. The position is the appeal: a cable car 200 metres from the door lifts you straight into the Espace Killy, the vast linked area shared with Tignes, while the hamlet itself keeps its stone-and-larch character and quiet. Behind a striking glass gable, the chalet opens into a double-height living room where fur-draped sofas face full-height windows onto the forested slopes, with a fire, a long dining table and a contemporary kitchen bar in old timber alongside. A lift reaches every floor, including a full wellness level with an indoor pool under an alpine mural, an indoor jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam and a gym, plus a mezzanine games room with a pool table. Five en-suite bedrooms sleep fourteen, several with their own fireplaces and terraces, and a family room combines doubles and twins for children. What sets it apart is the service: a chef, butler, housekeeper and chauffeur are all included daily, so ski days are driven to the lift and dinners are cooked and served at home. The nearest commercial airport is Chambery Savoie Mont Blanc, around a 2 hour 15 minute drive; Geneva and Lyon are roughly three hours, and the Bourg-Saint-Maurice rail head is about 30 minutes away.

We chose Le Fornet 2 for the rare combination of a genuine village setting and a full private staff. Le Fornet is the quiet, characterful corner of Val d'Isere, yet its cable car puts the whole Espace Killy within a two-minute walk. Inside, the wellness floor is comprehensive, an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, gym and an outdoor hot tub rather than a single feature, and a lift links it all. Above all it is the staffing: a chef, butler, housekeeper and, unusually, a chauffeur included every day turns a group ski week into something closer to a private hotel, which is exactly what a chalet at this level should offer.

The Bourg-Saint-Maurice rail station is about 30 minutes away, and for private aviation Courchevel Altiport (CVF) is the nearest alpine airfield, with Chambery and Geneva handling larger jets.
