We chose it for the sense of occasion. Very few houses give a group of thirty this combination of grandeur and warmth: formal gardens and grand rooms on one hand, a kitchen garden and a family kitchen on the other. The two pools and the ornamental garden terrace make it a natural setting for a celebration, while the Sintra hills, cool, green and full of palaces to explore, give the estate a romance that beach villas cannot. Add Lisbon half an hour away and a chef on call, and it becomes one of the most complete large-group houses we have found in Portugal, as suited to a quiet family reunion as to a party.

Romantic OutlookOur rating  9.0 / 10

The combination of a full volleyball court with a heatable saltwater pool is genuinely rare amongst coastal villas, creating opportunities for active group holidays that most properties cannot match. Villa Caparica sits in that sweet spot between beach proximity and urban accessibility — five minutes to the coast, thirty minutes to Lisbon — without the compromises that usually come with such dual access. Unlike many rental properties that treat outdoor spaces as an afterthought, every element here feels designed for group entertainment, from the Mediterranean gardens to the covered dining terrace that seats fourteen guests comfortably.

Why Lisbon Region

What makes Lisbon Region worth choosing

Sintra's Palatial Estates

Sintra's forested hills hold some of Portugal's most romantic architecture, and the collection includes villas that echo this palatial character. Guests get privacy and grandeur within thirty minutes of central Lisbon.

Costa da Caparica's Beaches

Across the Tagus, Costa da Caparica offers long, open Atlantic beaches with a more relaxed, surf-town character than Lisbon's centre. Villas here suit guests who want sea access alongside easy city visits.

Proximity to Lisbon

Both Sintra and Costa da Caparica sit within a short drive of Lisbon, allowing guests to combine a villa stay with the city's restaurants, museums and nightlife. This makes the region practical for shorter breaks as well as longer stays.

Our team selects each Lisbon Region villa for its setting, privacy and standard of finish, visiting properties in person before they join the collection.
