Colle Alto sits on the border of Umbria and Tuscany, near Umbertide in the upper Tiber valley. It is 15km from Perugia, 35km from Assisi and 20km from Lake Trasimeno, placing it at the centre of one of central Italy's most historically rich and least overcrowded landscapes.

Breakfast delivery is included in the rental. A cook service is available on request at an additional cost, along with food delivery and takeaway meals arranged through the estate. All catering and additional services must be booked through the estate concierge rather than through external providers.

Check-in is from 16:00 to 20:00. Check-out is by 10:00. A late arrival fee of €150 applies to arrivals after 20:00, payable locally in cash.

The nearest commercial airport is Perugia (approximately 34km, around 40 minutes by road). Florence is 164km, Rome Ciampino 215km and Rome Fiumicino 233km for those arriving on major scheduled services. Perugia Airport also accommodates smaller private aircraft for those travelling by private aviation.

Colle Alto provides a cot and highchair, and the open garden and terrace give children plenty of space. The infinity pool has a uniform depth of 1.5 metres and built-in steps, so parents should supervise children at the water as they would at any private pool. The property's rural setting means a car is required to reach facilities, which suits families accustomed to self-sufficient rural holidays.

The estate concierge can arrange truffle hunting, cooking classes, wine and olive oil tastings, boat tours and watersports on Lake Trasimeno (20km), walking tours on the estate and bicycle rental. The Antognolla Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, is a few minutes by car. Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and Lake Trasimeno are all within 35km for cultural visits.

Late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) offer the most comfortable conditions, with warm temperatures, the Umbrian countryside at its most vivid and fewer visitors than peak summer. July and August are hotter and busier, though the pool and long evenings make the villa particularly well suited to full summer use. Winter is mild but quieter, with some local facilities reducing hours between seasons.

The nearest shop and the Il Caldaro bar and restaurant are 1km from the villa. The small village of Pierantonio is 6km away. Umbertide, which has a full range of shops, restaurants and services, is 13km. Perugia is 15km.

The former chapel on the grounds is available for celebrations and weddings. The estate concierge can help organise events within the property. All event-related services must be arranged through the estate concierge rather than external providers.
