Villa Gertrudis is a five-bedroom countryside villa near Santa Gertrudis in the heart of Ibiza, sleeping up to ten guests across a fully refurbished main house and a self-contained Balinese guest house. The property sits at the geographic centre of the island, placing it within fifteen minutes of most major beaches and under ten kilometres from Ibiza town, without sacrificing the calm and greenery of the rural interior. The architecture combines traditional Ibizan whitewash and thick stone walls with contemporary interiors that were comprehensively renovated in 2023, including new floors, doors, windows and roof. Three separate living areas across two floors allow a group of ten to share space or find solitude, and on the first floor a terrace shared by two bedrooms frames a clear view across to Ibiza town and the castle. The outdoor kitchen, gas BBQ and plancha grill anchor a poolside pergola with al fresco dining for ten, while a separate Andalusian courtyard with orange trees and a water fountain provides a quieter retreat for aperitifs. An orchard with fruit trees and a putting green add to a grounds footprint that is unusually generous for a centrally located Ibiza villa. Bedrooms are all ensuite and described as exceptionally large by island standards. The property is listed through CV Villas and suits multigenerational families or friendship groups looking for a well-equipped rural base with easy access to both the beach clubs of the south and the quieter coves of the north.

peak crowdpremium value

Villa Gertrudis is a purpose-built summer property and its outdoor kitchen, pool terrace and Balinese day house are designed for the long, reliably dry days that Ibiza delivers from June through September.

Ibiza's villa season runs from late May through to early October, with July and August representing peak demand when the island's beach clubs and nightlife operate at full capacity. June and September offer the best balance of reliable heat, uncrowded beaches and availability. The rural interior around Santa Gertrudis is significantly quieter than the south of the island even at peak season, making Villa Gertrudis a workable choice for guests who want Ibiza's beaches without full exposure to its high-season crowds.

winter

dec · jan · feb

Mild by northern European standards but cool and often wet, with temperatures rarely dropping below 8°C. The island is very quiet and most beach clubs and many restaurants are closed.

8-15°C

low crowdexcellent value

Villa availability is generally good in winter and rates are at their lowest. Confirm the property is operational during this period before booking, as some villas close for maintenance between November and March.

spring

mar · apr · may

Warming through the season with May reaching reliably warm days. April can still bring rain but the island is greening and pleasant for exploration.

13-22°C

low crowdgood value

Late May is the best spring window: warm enough to use the pool comfortably and the island is waking up without the July and August pressure. Book a few months ahead for late May as demand starts to build.

summer

Recommended

jun · jul · aug

Hot, dry and sunny with very reliable conditions. July and August are the hottest months with temperatures frequently exceeding 30°C in the afternoon.

24-33°C

peak crowdpremium value

July and August require booking four to six months ahead for a villa of this quality. June and September offer near-identical weather with considerably better availability and more reasonable rates. The outdoor spaces here make peak summer genuinely worthwhile.

autumn

sep · oct · nov

September is effectively high summer with slightly cooler evenings. October brings the first rain and noticeably fewer visitors. November is quiet and mild.

14-28°C

moderate crowdgood value

September is the best value month in the island's season: the weather is identical to August, rates are lower and the beaches are noticeably calmer. Book two to three months ahead for September; October onwards is generally available at short notice.

Why we chose it

The Balinese day house on the far side of the garden is the detail most guests only appreciate once they arrive: a shaded retreat entirely separate from the main pool area that changes how a group uses the outdoor space across a long summer day. Most five-bedroom villas in Ibiza's interior compete on pool size; Villa Gertrudis competes on variety of outdoor environments, with four distinct zones from the pool terrace to the Andalusian courtyard to the orchard to the Balinese structure. Unlike many renovated Ibiza properties that modernise the interiors whilst leaving the outdoor areas unchanged, the 2023 works here addressed the entire building envelope, including roof and windows, which matters at the end of a hot August day when the cooling actually works.

01The Architecture

Villa Gertrudis follows the classic Ibizan farmhouse template: thick whitewashed walls, a low-profile two-storey main house and a layout that wraps around rather than opens directly onto the pool. The 2023 renovation addressed the full building envelope, replacing doors, windows, floors and roof whilst preserving the traditional exterior character. A separate Balinese structure on the far side of the property…

02The Interior

The 2023 refurbishment replaced all bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen, and the scrape notes the results are exceptionally large by Ibiza standards. The ground floor organises kitchen, dining and two living rooms along a bright open axis, with one living room opening directly onto the pool terrace and the Andalusian courtyard. The first-floor living room is positioned specifically to capture…

03The Outdoor

The 11m x 4m private pool, ranging from 1m to 3m in depth, is the central outdoor anchor. A poolside pergola houses a covered al fresco dining table for ten alongside a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with gas BBQ, plancha grill, hob, sink and fridge, making it possible to cook and eat outside for an entire day without returning to…

04The Location

Villa Gertrudis sits 3.7 kilometres from Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, the village at the centre of the island's rural interior known for its galleries, independent restaurants and a calm that contrasts sharply with the southern resort strip. The village's central location means most of Ibiza's beaches fall within a fifteen-minute drive: Playa d'Estanyol at 9km, Cala Llonga at 12.9km and…

05Ideal For

Villa Gertrudis works best for multigenerational families or two-family groups of up to ten who want a self-contained rural base rather than a beachfront property. Three living areas and a spread-out garden make it manageable for groups with mixed ages. The absence of pool fencing and a reviewer note about the pool area's suitability for very young children means it…
